Product overview

Markup tools built for the browser.

WebMarkups is being developed as a lightweight Chrome extension for clear, precise annotations without changing the webpage underneath.

Pre-release status: These features describe the current product implementation and direction. WebMarkups is not yet available on the Chrome Web Store, and details may change during testing.

Draw and explain

  • Trendlines created by clicking a start point and then an end point.
  • Solid horizontal segments created from two endpoints and automatically constrained to one level.
  • Directional arrows with SVG arrowheads.
  • Parallel channels with automatically calculated offsets.
  • Text notes that can be edited after placement.

Select and adjust

  • Select and move individual annotations directly on the page.
  • Change the active or selected annotation color from the toolbar.
  • Delete a selected annotation from the More menu.

Work quickly

Brief tooltips explain every primary control. Visible controls switch between Browse, Trendline, Horizontal Level, Arrow, Channel, and Text tools. Session history supports undo and redo, while the floating launcher and adaptive horizontal or vertical toolbar stay together inside the viewport.

Store and restore your work

Free use stays local and requires no account. Collections are separated by page URL and restore automatically after reload. Pro cloud sync and screenshot storage are in development and remain an explicit user choice.

Privacy boundary

The extension does not include advertising or analytics. Free annotation data remains on the user's device; planned Pro cloud storage is used only when the user explicitly enables it. The public website uses limited, cookieless analytics to improve its pages. See the privacy notice for details.

WebMarkups Pro

First-party accounts, verified email, cloud sync, screenshots, and 5 GiB of private storage are being developed at a planned $1.99/month or $19.99/year (Save 16%). They are not currently available. Rectangles, circles, freehand drawing, comments, and collaboration remain future possibilities.
