How recording quality works
The 1080p and 4K options apply to full-tab MP4 recordings. Actual dimensions depend on the captured tab and display; selecting 4K does not upscale a smaller source. Area recordings use the selected area’s dimensions, and WebM uses its source-based quality settings. Recordings do not include audio.
Local capture remains the default
Free screenshots download as watermarked PNG files through Chrome, and user-started recordings without microphone or system audio download as the selected MP4 or WebM format when Chrome supports it. Local annotations remain in Chrome extension storage. Using local capture does not require an email address or Web Markups account.

Free cloud uploads require an updated extension. If Cloud still asks you to upgrade, your installed version has not received this update yet. Your local capture tools continue to work.
Cloud storage on both plans
Verified Free accounts include 1 GB (1 GiB, 1,073,741,824 bytes); Pro includes 5 GB (5 GiB, 5,368,709,120 bytes). Choose Cloud for each screenshot or recording you want to upload. Editable annotations stay on your device. Files start private; creating a share link grants access to anyone with the link and, when set, its password.
If you downgrade above the Free allowance, existing files and valid links remain available. Delete files or upgrade to resume uploading. Images are limited to 10 MiB and recordings to 64 MiB per upload.
Cloud storage is not for sensitive information
Cloud storage is for ordinary visual feedback and product communication. It is not designed or represented as regulated-data storage. Do not save payment or bank details, transaction or tax records, health information, credentials, government identifiers, trade secrets, or other confidential, regulated, or security-sensitive information to a Web Markups account. Sharing controls and limits
Set an expiration from one hour to 90 days, add an optional password, replace a link, or stop sharing. Recipients do not need an account. Both plans support up to 100 managed links, including expired links, with shared delivery limited to 500 content responses and 10 GiB per account per 24-hour window. Viewing and downloading separately each count toward delivery limits. Already downloaded copies cannot be revoked.

Is the annual plan exactly 16% less?
Twelve monthly payments total $59.88. The $49.99 annual price is approximately 16.5% lower and is displayed as Save 16%.
Can I use Web Markups without creating an account?
Yes. Core local annotation, screenshot, and recording features do not require an account or a paid plan. Creating a free account gives you access to the account dashboard and 1 GB of cloud storage and sharing, with Pro available when you need more.
