What is a visual website feedback tool? It helps a reviewer identify a specific element or interaction with an image, recording, arrow, line, or note. Web Markups focuses on producing the visual evidence locally; it does not yet replace a project tracker or team discussion system.
A straightforward review workflow
- Open the page and reproduce the layout or state you want to discuss.
- Activate Web Markups without leaving the browser.
- Add an arrow, line, level, channel, or short text note.
- Choose a visible-page screenshot, selected-area screenshot, or user-controlled recording without microphone or system audio.
- Review the local file for private information before sharing it through your existing workflow.
Match the evidence to the feedback
Screenshot
Use a still image for spacing, typography, hierarchy, color, content, alignment, or a single interface state.
Selected area
Crop the evidence to the exact component so reviewers do not have to search a full browser view.
User-controlled recording
Start a short walkthrough when the issue depends on scrolling, opening a menu, completing a form, or moving between states. A countdown, recording indicator, timer, and controls show when capture is active.
Feedback for marketing and analytics work
Web Markups is especially suited to visual browser work: annotate a landing-page section, compare a call-to-action placement, mark an analytics threshold, highlight a Search Console movement, or explain a conversion path. Persistent per-page annotations also provide a private reference when revisiting the same dashboard URL.
What Web Markups does not replace
The current product does not include team comments, assignments, approvals, Jira or project-management integrations, public share links, or multi-user collaboration. It creates local visual evidence that can be attached to the workflow a team already trusts. Planned Pro cloud screenshots and synchronization are not released.
Website feedback questions
Can feedback be added without editing the website?
Yes. The annotation layer is separate from the page's original content and styles.
Does the tool send feedback automatically?
No. The current local workflow produces PNG screenshots or user-selected MP4 or WebM recordings. The user decides where and whether to share them.
Can annotations remain for a later review?
Free annotations are stored by page URL in Chrome's local extension storage and are designed to restore after reload.
